The first-born daughter of German opera singer Helga Meyer and American music teacher John Bullock, Sandra Anette Bullock, was born in Arlington, Virginia. She spent her first twelve years travelling all around Europe with her family. Upon returning to the United States she joined her high school's amateur acting class and performed in the school’s theater productions.
After graduating she moved to New York where she spent most of her time auditioning for roles, but soon decided to move to Los Angeles. Sandra Bullock debuted in the movie Demolition Man, a film starring the famous Sylvester Stallone. Her breakthrough performance, however, was in the action movie Speed. She is also well known for her splendidly amusing performances in romantic comedies. She starred in While You Were Sleeping, Miss Congeniality and won an Oscar for her performance in The Blind Side. The true radiance of this highest-paid actress in Hollywood lies in her genuine personality and humor.
After several unhappy relationships and an unsuccessful marriage Sandra Bullock now devotes her motherly love to her adopted son, Louie Bullock.
